Frequently Asked Questions

What makes you different from others?

I’m living it.

I have depression, an anxiety disorder and mild postpartum depression. I struggle with living a life I enjoy and not battling my own thoughts and feelings.

Healing is a life long road.

I am in therapy and seeing a doctor for medication.

I am honest and open about my journey, the good, the bad and the ugly. There is no covering up when I have a bad day or my anxiety flares up, because I believe in the power of the truth, to myself and to you.

I am on this journey with you.

I will embrace you, understand you and be your biggest cheerleader on your path to recovery, healing and introspection.

Over the years, I had convinced myself I didn’t need a therapist, a life coach or any sort of guide. I know myself well, what could they tell me that I didn’t already understand? I’ve finally gone back to see a therapist recently and I’ve learned that no matter how well I know myself, with the right guide (therapist, mentor, counselor, coach…), I will learn and heal more than on my own.

Why can you help me?

My life experiences have led me down the path of teaching, giving advice and searching for resources while I was at my worst depression that let me feel less alone, more uplifted and genuinely cared for.

It’s been a hard path, just like yours has been.

There has been lots of reading, researching, seeing therapist, life coaching and brainstorming with friends to realize how much I want to lift up, empower and guide women on their journeys.

I am in the throes of mental health concerns and I always will be. My experiences with living in a world where mental illnesses are so stigmatized, as a teenager and now as a young mother has given me the insight, gifts and time to help you too.

I can’t guarantee I will be a perfect fit for all women who suffer from mental illnesses out there. Some of my offerings and services as well as my personality just might not mesh with yours. And that is okay with me. Neither of us will get anything from working together if the relationship is forced.

I can guarantee that if you are willing, if you open yourself to me and let me be a guide and friend, that I can help you heal, slowly but surely.

Can you cure me? Are you a Doctor?

I am not a therapist, psychiatrist or doctor. I am just a woman who has lived with depression and anxiety in many forms her whole life. I have been seeing doctors and therapists since I was 13, I’ve been on medications off and on since I was 13. I’m a knowledge-aholic and have thoroughly educated myself on my own mental illnesses and have done a lot of research for this guide and other offerings. Please do not take anything written in this e-book as law. If you need medical help, seek a doctor first.

None of my advice or services should be taken as medical advice or as a replacement for a medically trained doctor.

I am a guide and cannot give you sound medical advice, I am only offering you advice and resources from my personal experiences and extensive research.

How can you help? What tools do you use?

I am a writer and an artist and believe strongly in the healing power of art in all forms.

My current and future e-books, e-courses and mentoring will all utilize theory and practices from art therapy as well as other techniques I have developed through personal growth and my own journey.

So you only work with artists?

Nope! You do not have to be an artist to work with me.

You do have to be willing to be open, creative and let go expectations of perfection, failure or not being good enough.

You have to be a women with goals, dreams and a drive to get better.

You have to want help to receive it.

I believe you must be able to envision a healthier version of you to be able to achieve it.

I believe you can have the life you want and heal your mental illnesses but you have to be willing to show up and do the work.

Most of all, you just have to say yes!
